On Halloween night, 2023 Marshall Allen’s Ghost Horizons invited Philly’s Ade Ilu ensemble to perform together with them at Marshall’s monthly residency for Ars Nova Worksop at the venue Solar Myth. Ghost Horizons and Arkestra guitarist DM Hotep, and Ade Ilu’s Kevin Diehl previously perfomed together in Diehl’s Sonic Liberation Front, an ensemble that bought together Afro-Cuban Lucumi culture with loft jazz and improvisiation.
This studio recording took place two days later with a video crew capturing the session.
